Sow 1cm (1/2") deep in the seed bed, transplant 60cm (2ft) apart each way for summer/autumn types and 75cm (21"/2ft) for winter heading types. Summer/autumn heading varieties should be sown outdoors in April and transplanted in June to early July. Sow winter cauliflowers in May transplanting in July. As with other brassicas, firm planting in soil with a good pH reading is important.
